Dr. Tammy Crouse

Dr. Tammy Crouse is a physician, podcaster, and owner of Financial Residency. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Louisville with a degree in Communication.

She put herself through college as a single mother while working three jobs. She owned her own database marketing company for a time then became the Director of Public Relations and Marketing for a college.

During her time with the college, she worked as an adjunct professor teaching website design. She felt like she needed to do more to help others and loved the sciences, so she decided to go to medical school at KCUMB to pursue a new career, which is when she met her husband Doug Crouse.

In 2021, she co-authored the 200-page book “Hippocratic House: Do No Harm When Purchasing Your First Physician Home” with her
husband, which is available for free to physicians at www.DougCrouse.com.

She has worked as a hospitalist since 2009. In 2022 she had the opportunity to become involved with Financial Residency where she felt like she could help other physicians become more financially successful.

She started her podcast Grand Rounds with Dr. Tammy where she engages with reputable experts from a wide range of industries to educate physicians on topics such as disability insurance, contract negotiation, investing, and borrowing/leveraging money.

She especially enjoys highlighting other physicians who have done something unique in their personal or professional lives to help inspire her colleagues. She believes burnout is at an all-time high, so educating others to either become financially independent or find a way in which they can make medicine meaningful to them again is her passion.

She also started the Financial Residency Speakers Bureau in 2023 where she will work with residency/fellowship programs or physician practices to bring an expert in any field to their program to give a presentation at no cost.
